Death
ALBEMARLE—Avon Edward Furr, 67, of Rt. 3, died Saturday morning at Stanly County Hospital. Funeral will be Monday at 2 pm at Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Officiating at the rites will be Elder C. M. Mills and Elder Cuff Alten. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body was taken from Hartsell Funeral Home to the residence this morning and will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Born Nov. 9, 1910, in Stanly County, he was a son of the late Merlin Cephus and Dixie Burleson Furr. He was a retired farmer and a member of Mountain Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Auta Martha Furr, three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy M. Lefler of Albemarle, Mrs. Stella Wilhoit of Charlotte and Mrs. Marie Eury of Gastonia, a brother, Craven Furr of Oakboro, asister, Mrs. Buck Parnell of Concord, and three grandchildren.Endnotes
