Death
Mrs. Jennie Furr Page, 77, died Sunday at 1:25 p.m. at her home, 1204 Poplar Street, after two months of serious illness and two years of declining health. Funerla services were held Monday t 4 p.m. at Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Officiating were Elder W.C. Almond, assisted by Rev. Hoyle T. Allred and Rev. Robert Hallock. Active pallbearers were Wayne Page, Odell Furr, Darrell Page, Larry Page, Joseph Hughes, and James Hamilton. Born March 1, 1888, Mrs. Page was the daughter of late Daniel and Bethany Hatley Furr of Stanly County. She was married to the late John J. Page, founder of Page Church Furniture Company of Albemarle, who died February 1, 1958. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Joe Lowder of Albemarle; six sons, Hugh J., Carl L., Richard C., Homer R., John D., and Raeford J. all of Albemarle; 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; one brother, Paul D. Furr of Conord, and one sister, Miss Rosa J. Furr of Albemarle.Endnotes
