Death
In another incident, a 58-year-old Concord man drowned Saturday at Mountain Island Lake in northwestern Mecklenburg County. Dewey Wilson Furr drowned, police said, when he fell out of his boat while carrying supplies across the lake to a campsite.The Charlotte News, Charlotte, North Carolina, July 4, 1977
CONCORD — Dewey Wilson Furr, 58, a carpenter, died Saturday. Funeral is 11 a.m. today at Hartsell Funeral Home chapel. Survivors are wife, Oma; son, Jerry Wilson Furr of Charlotte; daughters, Mrs. Marcelene Eschanbacher of Butte, Mont., Mrs. Catherine Allison, Mrs. Judy Smith, Mrs. Dale Warren; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Furr of Stanfield; brothers, Clegg Furr of Albemarle, Claude Furr, Junior Furr, both of Stanfield,Cecil Furr of Locust; sister, Mrs. Cora Barr of Charlotte.
