Death

CONCORD Catherine Furr Allison, 75, of Concord, passed away Friday, Aug. 18, 2017, at her home. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 22, at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, Aug. 21, at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel. Cathy was born March 28, 1942, in Stanley County, to the late Dewey Wilson Furr and Oma Mullis Furr. She worked at Allstate Insurance Company for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and spoiling her granddaughters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Allison in 2013; brother, Jerry Furr; and a sister, Marcelene Eschenbacher. Those left to cherish her memory are one son, Todd Lacy Allison of Concord; two daughters, Lisa Allison Cole and her husband, Todd of Midland, and Marcy Alene Allison of Concord; two granddaughters, Taylor Lacey Allison and Audrey Ann Allison; two sisters, Judy Smith (Jerry) of Kannapolis, and Dale Dugan (Joe) of Huntersville. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081 or to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, 2316 Randolph Rd., Charlotte, NC 28207. The family would like to thank Dr. Steffans and his staff at Levine Cancer Center, and also Central Carolina Home Care for their loving care.
