Death
BOSSIER CITY, LA - Lucian W. Furr Jr., age 93, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 8, 2015. The family will receive friends at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 from 5-7 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Church Bossier in the Faith Chapel at 2:00 PM with viewing from 1-2 PM at the church. Burial will take place at Hill Crest Memorial Park following the service. Dr. Brad Jurkovich and Rev. Sonny DePrang will be officiating. Lucian was a WWII Veteran who served in the United States Navy. He was a godly man who loved the Lord and served as a Sunday School teacher for eleven year old boys, he was a First Baptist Bossier member for over 60 years, served as a deacon, and a Chairman of the Deacons for two terms. He loved his church family and was an active member up to the day he passed. Everyone loved to hear his fishing stories and all about his gardening techniques. Lucian was preceded in death by the love of his life for 69 years, Clara Lulabe Furr. Survivors include, daughters Dana Howard, Laney Boyd and husband Jimmy, Cindy Arnold and husband, Jack; grandchildren and their families, Amy and Mike Long, and Colby; Allison and Richard Jones, Hogan and Paxton; Michael Howard and Linda Hess; Stephen and Katie Boyd, Mason and Maggie; Kelly and Ronnie Coker, Abigail, Hunter, Peyton, and Nate; Mary and Tim Huck, Landon and Brady; Jessica Arnold and Bryce; Drew and Jessica Arnold, Peyton, Micah, Elyce; sister, Jean Cloy; brother, Robert and Joan Furr as well as many, many loved nieces, nephews, and extended families. Honoring him as pallbearers will be Leroy Faith Sr., Danny Young, Bill Crow, Danny Bob Turner, Jimmy Starks, Jim Jarratt, Louis Stevenson, and Bob Lewis. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Student Ministry at First Baptist Bossier, 2810 East Texas Street, Bossier City, Louisiana 71111.
