Death
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Spann Furr, who died Wednesday in a local clinic after a brief illness, are planned for 11 a.m. Friday April 29, at Central Baptist church Wisner. Born August 17, 1887 at Wisner, Mrs. Furr was a lifelong resident of that community. She was a charter member of Central Baptist Church and was active in church and community activities. Survivors are her husband, Lucian W. Furr, Wisner; three daughters, Mrs. Leon Bledsoe, Bossier City, Mrs. George Lucas, Monroe, and Mrs. Jarvis Cloy, Jonesboro; six sons, C.A. Furr, Frank Furr, both of Wisner, Lucian Furr, Jr., Bossier City, H. L. Furr and Joe Furr, both of Monroe, and Robert H. Furr, Savannah; three sisters, Mrs. R. H. Bass, Wisner, Mrs. R. E. Mabry, Columbia, and Mrs. Ella Scott, California; 20 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Conducting funeral services will be the Rev. Enon Boyette, assisted by the Rev. Tom Ratcliff. Burial will be in Central cemetery under the direction of First National Funeral Home. Pallbearers are to be Gerald King, Donald Furr, Frank O. Furr, Charlie Bass, F. M.
