Death
HIGH POINT — Mrs. Eva Madeline Furr Suggs, 36, of 1219 Redding Street, wife of James Suggs, died in High Point Memorial Hospital at 10:45 p.m. Friday. She had been in declining health for two years. Her condition had been critical for the past three months. Mrs. Suggs was born Jan. 17, 1924, in Guilford County to John and Lillie Manley Furr. She had been a resident of High Point all her life and was a Wesleyan Methodist. She had been employed by Pickett Cotton Mill in High Point for 15 years up to last spring, when she started work at Stradley’s Food Store. She was married on March 1, 1947. Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Travis Lee Suggs of the home; her mother, of the home; a sister, Mrs. Edna Jensen of Costa Mesa, Calif.; and six brothers, Thurman, Mack, Ray, and Guy Furr of High Point, Clinton Furr of Norfolk, Va., and Bobby Furr of Washington, D. C. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Ennis Street Wesleyan Methodist Church by the pastor, the Rev. Philip Birchall.
