Death
ALBEMARLE -- Cannie Louise Furr Watson, 88, 34129 Watson Road, died Saturday (April 3, 2004) at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte. Born Jan. 31, 1916, in Stanly County, Mrs. Watson was a daughter of the late Henry and Gracie Shoe Furr. She was a retired nurse who worked for Dr. Henry Hill and was a lifetime member of New Mount Tabor United Methodist Church, Richfield. She was a past Worthy Matron and secretary of Albemarle Chapter 71 Order of the Eastern Star. Her husband, James Howard Watson, died in 1994. Survivors include sons James H. "Jim" Watson Jr., Concord, and Phillip Watson, Albemarle; brother, Clifford Furr, Rockwell; sister Edith F. Drye, Concord; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services: 2 p.m. today, New Mount Tabor United Methodist Church, Richfield, conducted by the Rev. Brian M. Crady. Burial, church cemetery. Stanly Funeral Home is in charge.
