Death
ALBEMARLE — Mrs. Gracie Shoe Furr, 79, of Rt. 1, New London, died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. J. Howard Watson, on Rt. 3, Albemarle. Born May 9, 1892, in Stanly County, she was a daughter of the late James Osborne and Esther Hahn Shoe. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at New Tabor United Methodist Church where Mrs. Furr held her membership. Officiating at the rites will be the Rev. Ed Biggers and the Rev. R. P. Rutledge. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body was to be taken at 2:30 p.m. today from Stanly Funeral Home to the home of Mrs. Watson, Rt. 3, Albemarle. Survivors include her husband, Henry Martin Furr; two sons, Martin O. Furr of Rt. 1, New London and Allen Clifford Furr of Concord; two daughters, Mrs. Watson and Mrs. Gaither Drye of Concord; two brothers, James E. and Horace L. Shoe of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Mrs. Daniel L. Lowder of Mt. Pleasant; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.The Salisbury Post, Salisbury, North Carolina, February 4, 1972
