CONCORD - Allen Clifford Furr, 87, of 215 Lash Drive, Salisbury, formerly of 148 Woodland Drive, Concord, died at 4:05 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007, at Laurel's of Salisbury in Salisbury. He was born on Thursday, Nov. 13, 1919, in Stanly County. He served in the U.S. Army. He was retired from Cannon Mills, Plant No. 6 as a boiler room supervisor. Visitation will be at Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord, on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, from 5 to 7 p.m. Service will be held at Center United Methodist Church, Concord, on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007, at 2 p.m. The Clergy will be the Rev. Don Newman and the Rev. Lee Pollock. Burial will be at Center United Methodist Church Cemetery, Concord. Mr. Furr was an active member of Center United Methodist Church in Concord and a former member of the American Legion. He is survived by his son, Kenny Furr and wife, Joyce, of Concord; sister, Edith Drye of Concord. He is also survived by two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Linker Furr, who died July 25, 1997; father, Henry Furr; and mother, Gracie Shoe Furr. Services performed under the direction of Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord Memorials can be made to Center United Methodist Church 1119 Union St. S., Concord, NC 28025.
