Death

CONCORD—Homer Lee Furr, of Rt. 4, died at 11 am, Monday at his home. He was born Dec, 17, 1903 in Cabarrus County, son of Mrs. Ethel B. Furr and the late P. M. Furr. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Epworth Methodist Church with Rev. Howard Allred officiating, Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The body will remain at Wilkinson's Funeral Home until taken to the church to lie in state half an hour prior to the rites. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Surviving, in addition to his, mother, are his wife, Mrs. Minnie Earvhardt Furr; four daughters, Mrs. Betty Furr and Mrs. Carolyn Burris of Concord, Mrs. Brenda Harvell and Mrs. Phyllis Harvell of Midland; six sons, Larry Furr of Concord, Kenneth Furr of Cape Kennedy, Fla., Donald Furr of New Port News, Va., William Furr of Charlotte, Homer Earl Furr of Charleston, S.C., James Furr of the U. S. Army in Vietnam: six sisters, A. C. Widenhouse, Mrs. W. C. Carpenter, Mrs. Jack Barnhardt, Mrs. Ira Conner of Concord, Mrs. J. W. Falk of Gainesville, Ga, Mrs. Fred Helms of New Bern; three brothers, J. W. Furr, Raye Furr and Paul M. Furr Jr. of Concord.
