Notes
Death
James A. Furr, who was over sixty years of age died Sunday morning in the hospital in Concord, where he had undergone an operation a few day previous. He had been a patient, uncomplaining sufferer for some time and had expressed the desire to depart and be at rest in the better land. He was among the first members who established the Baptist church here and had remained faithful to the last, missing very few services, these thirty or more years. He was also a good neighbor and will be missed from the community. His wife, five daughters and two sons survive. Funeral services were conducted Monday at noon from the Baptist church, by Rev. W. B. Holmes, assisted by Rev. E. D. Teeter and R. L. Stogner, of Concord, and the interment was made in the cemetery. The Concord Times, Concord, North Carolina, August 19, 1920
