Death

A sudden heart attack caused the death of Mrs. Mary Furr, widow of M. M. Furr, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Pharel Herlocker, in the city Saturday afternoon at 6:30 o’clock. Mrs. Furr had been ill for a week. She was 66 years old. Mrs. Furr was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sides, and was well known over the county. She was a member of Friendship Methodist church. Funeral services were held at Friendship Monday morning at 11 o'clock with the pastor, Rev. Earl A. Cook, officiating, and burial was in the church cemetery. Surviving are five children, these being Homer Furr of Charlotte, Price Furr of Statesville, Mrs. Fred Herrin of Statesville, Mrs. Hugh Harkey of Albemarle, and Mrs. Pharel Herlocker of Albemarle. Brothers and sisters surviving are Mrs. J. W. Hornbuckle, Albemarle; Mrs. Florence Kennedy, Concord; D. W. Sides, of route 3, and Pierce Sides of Bluefield, W. Va.
