Death
Mrs. Estelle Furr Herrin, 332 N. Bost St., died at noon Monday at Davis Hospital following a lingering illness. Mrs. Herrin was a native of Albemarle in Stanly County and a daughter of the late Matthew M. and Mary Sides Furr. She was a member of the Statesville Womans Club and a member of the American War Mothers. She was married on June 16, 1923, to Fred E. Herrin who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Charles C. (Barbara) Chason of Raleigh; one son, Dwight E. Herrin of Louisville, Ky.; two sisters, Mrs. Jewell F. Herlocker and Mrs. Hugh (Gladys) Harkey, both of Albemarle, and six grandchildren. One son, Eugene M. Herrin, died June 11, 1974. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, and was active in all phases of church life. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 o’clock Wednesday morning by her pastor, Dr. Frank R. Campbell. Interment will follow in Oakwood cemetery. The family will be at the residence, 332 N. Bost St., and the body will remain at Nicholson Funeral Home until the funeral hour.Statesville Record and Landmark, Statesville, North Carolina, July 16, 1974
