Notes
Death
Mrs. J. L. Furr, of this city, 610 Rowan avenue, died at her home at 4 o'clock, yesterday afternoon after a lingering illness of several years. Mrs. Furr was 45 years of age at the time of her death. The deceased is survived by the following: the husband, J, L. Furr; one daughter, Mrs. Sue Harkey; two brothers, D. Walter Sides of Plyler, N. C., and P. C, Sides, of Bluefield, W. Va.; and three sisters, Mrs. F. P. Kennedy, of Concord; Mrs. M. M. Furr, of Plyler, and Mrs. J. W. Hornbuckle, of Albemarle. Mrs. Furr was a member of the Friendship church of Plyler, and she was a faithful worker in the church work until illness caused her to desist several years ago. She had a wide circle of friends in this city and in nearby communities who were shocked and grieved to learn of her death, feeling the loss of her personality a personal blow. No arrangements for the funeral have been made as yet and the arrangements will not be announced until the arrival of her brother from West Virginia, who is expected tomorrow. The Salisbury Post, Salisbury, North Carolina, October 13, 1929
