Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home. She died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, at Carillon Medical Center. She was born Nov. 10, 1904, in Oeanaville. She was a graduate of the Roberson School. She has been a Lubbock resident since 1929. She married Newell H. Wood on July 14, 1931. He died Aug. 1, 1972. She was a sales manager for Cobbs Department Store until her retirement. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church and was a member of Methodist Women. Survivors include a daughter, Darlyne Van Pelt of Kingwood; a brother, Hobson Aycock of Lubbock; a grandson; two granddaughters; and six great-grandchildren.
