Per "The genealogy of the Cleveland and Cleaveland families..etc." by Edmund James Cleveland dated 1899, page 2281-2, found at Heritage Quest Online: Caleb Titus was born 19 June 1791 in Colebrook, Coos Co., NH, son of Eleazer Titus and Martha Cleveland.

1820 census shows him in Colebrook, Coos Co., NH.
1819 birth of son Hiram is from the New Hampshire Register of Vital Statistics "Death Index early to 1900" (film 1001111) which showed his parents as Caleb Titus, born in Colebrook and Drusilla Lyon, born in Mass.
1816 poll tax for Colebrook, NH shows him living on the farm of Schuyler H. Aldrich (see "History of Coos Co. NY" page 593).
1791 on page 584 of the FHC film 15195 "Landaff, NH Town Records" Caleb's birth date is found. During the period of 1786 to 1804, Caleb's father, Eleazer Titus, was mentioned as an office holder of Surveyor of Highways establishing the birth location for him. Landaff is in Grafton County.
