1860 census for Sand Hill, Scotland Co., MO shows Melinda Brasee age 78 (born 1782 in CT) living with Caleb Crandall age 54 and Almyra Crandall age 52. This is Elisabeth's son Caleb G. and his wife, Almyra. Almira is the daughter of Melinda.

E-mail from Rik Vigeland dated Jan 1999 shows Elisabeth (Bresee), Caleb Crandall and Malinda Bresse in the same cemetery, Musgrove Cemetery 8 miles SE of Memphis, Scotland Co., MO. He states that cemetery records shows Elizabeth died 23 June 1847, age 67 years, 3 months, 16 days (born 7 Mar 1780). Caleb Crandall died 11 Aug 1852, age 72 years, 10 months and 28 days (born 14 Sept 1779). Melinda Bresee died 2 Aug 1865 age 82 years, 6 months, 3 days (born 31 Jan 1783). We think Elisabeth is the daughter of John C. Bresee.

Elizabeth and Caleb's son, Caleb George Crandall, was married to Almira Bresee. Melinda (Hawkins) Bresee was in the latter couple's household in 1860."
