Elizabeth and Caleb's son, Caleb George Crandall, was married to Almira Bresee. Melinda (Hawkins) Bresee was in the latter couple's household in 1860."

1830 census for Jefferson, Richland Co., OH shows Caleb Crandall age 40-50 living with a female age 40-50 and two daughters age 10-15. Next door is his son Calebd G. Crandall age 20-30 living with a female age 20-30 and one male age 0-5 (this must be son Jeremiah named after his mother's father, Jeremiah Bresee).

1840 census for Lewis, MO shows Caleb G. Crandell age 30-40 living next to Caleb Crandell age 50-60.

1850 census for Mount Pleasant, Scotland Co., MO shows him age 44 (born 1806) living with: Almira age 41 (born 1809); Jeremiah age 21 (born 1829 in Ohio); Henjrietta age 5 (born 1845 in MO); and Caleb Crandle age 71 (born 1779 in NY). The older Caleb Crandle must be his father who married Elisabeth Bresee (born 7 Mar 1780).

1860 census for Sand Hill, Scotland Co., MO shows Caleb Crandall age 54 (born 1806 in NY), living with: Almyra age 52 (born 1808); Henrietta age 16 (born 1844 in MO) and Melinda Brasee age 78 (born 1782 in CT). Melinda must be Almyra's mother. Next door is William H. Breseee age 14 (born 1846 in IL). This must be the same William shown in the 1850 census living with John J. Breese in Rock Run, Stephenson Co., IL with Melinda Breese age 70 born in CT. Next door to that is Jeremiah Crandall and his family (the son of Caleb).
