Elizabeth and Caleb's son, Caleb George Crandall, was married to Almira Bresee. Melinda (Hawkins) Bresee was in the latter couple's household in 1860."
Deposition dated 11 May 1887 by John J. Bresee states he had a sister who married a David Strain and who lived in So. Worcester plus brothers Phineas and Nelson and another sister, Almira. His mother was living with Almira when she died.
1860 census for Sand Hill, Scotland Co., MO, shows her age 52 (born 1808 in NY) living with Caleb Crandall age 54 (born 1806 in NY), Henrietta age 16 (born 1844 in MO) and Milinda Brasee age 78 (born 1782 in CT). Next door is Jeremiah Crandall age 31 (born 1828 in Ohio). Jeremiah is her son.
1850 census for Mount Pleasant, Scotland Co., MO, shows her age 41 (born 1809 in NY living with Caleb Crandle age 44 (born 1806 in NY), Jeremiah age 21 (born 1829 in Ohio), Henrietta age 5 (born 1845 in MO) and Caleb Crandle age 71 (born 1779 in NY). This must be her father-in-law.
1840 census for Lewis, MO shows Caleb G. Crandell age 30-40 living near Caleb Crandell age 50-60. This is her husband and father-in-law.
1830 census for Jefferson, Richland Co., Ohio shown Caleb G. Crandall age 20-30, a female age 20-30 (must be Almira) and a male child age 0-5 (this must be Jeremiah). Living near by is Caleb Crandal age 40-50 (must be her father-in-law).
1808-1809 birth year based on 1850 and 1860 census.
