Thomas Lackey was born in 1755, the son of [[Lackey-313 | Thomas]] and [[Leech-174 | Agnes Leech]] Lackey and they lived on Timber Ridge in Rockbridge Co., VA, having inherited the home place. He married first [[Anderson-10271|Martha Anderson]] and together they had five children: [[Lackey-390 | Thomas III]], [[Lackey-1328 | Jean]], [[Lackey-1152 | James]], [[Lackey-522 | Nathan]] and Issac. He married second, [[Taylor-32313 | Jemima Taylor]], and together they had three children: [[Lackey-772 | William]], Martha Ann (1804-1836) and Jane (1806-1884). Thomas passed away in 1826 and was buried in the Timber Ridge Presbyterian Churchyard, Timber Ridge, VA.
