Death
Notice in the newspaper....Lela Julia Whitney b 18 dec 1884 died ll o'clock on 7 August 1899. Funeral services were held Tuesday 2 p.m. at the residence of her mother and were conducted by Rev. A.V. Kendrick.Burial
Lela's obituary states that her remains were taken to Harmony Cemetery, but there is no stone there for her. Her name, birth and death are engraved on the side of her mother's stone in IOOF Cemetery in Brooklyn, Iowa. It is uncertain where she's buried, but it's possible she's buried in Harmony with no stone and the engraving was just done as a memorial to her on her mother's stone.Endnotes
