Rudolph WHITNEY

(7 Apr 1876 - 17 Jan 1952)

Rudolph went to Colorado in 1906, lived in Ft. Collins for two years, then bought a small ranch. After two years on the ranch, he sold it and moved back to town. He worked as a foreman for the Greata Western Sugar Company until 1934 when that work became too hard. He then spent the remaining work years as engineer at the high school.

Marriage

---Last Wednesday evening the wedding bells rang out at the pleasant home of Supervisor and Mrs. W. W. Shannon, and cupid's silken cord has bound two more of Brooklyn's most worthy young people for life. Promptly at eight o'clock, to the sweet strains of "The Wedding Bells", rendered by Miss Lillie Breniman, Rev. A. V. Kendrick led the way to the east parlor, followed by the ushers, the Misses Clara and Ella Breniman, cousins of the groom, who conducted Mr. Rudolph Whitney and Miss Mabel C. Shannon to a beautiful arch of golden rod and smilax, and Rev. Kendrick pronounced them man and wife. After receiving the heartiest congratulations and best wishes of the many assembled guests, the happy couple led the way to the spacious dining room, where a sumptuous wedding feast was spread, consisting of a happy commingling of the substantials and delicacies. The remainder of the evening was spent in pleasant social converse. Many handsome and valuable tokens of remembrance were received. ---Chronicle
