Notes
Burial
On Monday, July 18, 2011, Don Cranston (trustee) and Ellen Zimmerman (Pioneer Cemetery Commission) placed two gravestones in the Dresden Cemetery to be mounted in permanent bases by Watts Monument Company of Montezuma. More ...The first gravestone placed was that of "Infant", 2 mo. child of Myron and Rosina Whitney. We placed the stone between Myron, the baby's father, and Elon M. Whitney, another Whitney family member. Myron and Sophia (Myron's first wife) are buried together. Myron died before Rosina and she is buried in Brooklyn IOOF Cemetery. Therefore, the decision to place this stone close to the father, since its actual grave is believed to be in Deep River township.
These two stones were found buried together several years back, in the back yard of the Mike Peek home in Deep River. This home was previously owned by Robert McWilliams and before that had been the property of a Mr. Connell, who was also the undertaker and stonecutter for the area.
