Alma received her education in schools near Brooklyn, Ia. and her high school education in Ft. Collins, Colorado. She and Charlie farmed until their retirement when they moved to Guernsey, later to Brooklyn. She lived all her life in the Brooklyn area except for four years when she lived in Ft. Collins, Co. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, UMW, Philathea Class, Eastern Star, helped organize the NB Club, and was an active 4-H leader for many years.

Marriage

Charles was a student at the Colorado Agriculture College in Fort Collins, Colorado when he met Alma Breniman. When the Brenimans moved back Iowa to care for the farms, he moved to Iowa, too. After he and Alma married, they lived on one of the Breniman farms.
Notice in the paper...At the Home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred F. Breniman in Warren Twp, Poweshiek Co, Iowa, Wednesday at 10:30 A.M. on the 2nd Aug 1912, Charles W. McSherry and Miss Alma Belle Breniman were married. The Rev C.F. Edwards of the M.E. Church of Brooklyn, Iowa, officiated.
