John Hanson came to Comanche County about four years before his father and siblings. He settled on Rush Creek.

The following children are named in the will of John Hanson dated 1888: John A., James B., Martha R., Daniel A., Mary Jane, and Caroline. Names in the will of Martha Hanson of 1896 and 1899 are: John A., James B., Martha R., David L., Daniel A., Mary Jane, and Caroline. The names of Jaghire, William John, and Eli were found in different censuses. These either died or are duplications of other known children. (NOTE FROM RALPH TERRY: I don't know why his will was dated 1888, when he died in 1886.)
