Malvern Davis Dies Here
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock for Malvern H Davis, 78, who died Tuesday about 12:30 pm, at the home of his daughter here, Mrs. Herbert Miller.
He had been ill only a short while.
Services were held at the Miller home with the Rev. W C McCay of Baldwyn, and the Rev. A C Bishop, pastor of the local Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was in the Concord Cemetery. Houston Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
In 1894 he was married to Miss Mary E Davis, who died in June, 1946. He was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church.
Mr. Davis is survived by two sons, Malcolm M, of Oakland, Calif., and Augustus E, of Houston; four daughters, Mrs. B H Syers of Mobile, Ala., Mrs. Mike Morath of Blytheville, Ark., and Mrs. Verbal Sigler and Mrs. Herbert Miller of Houston; four brothers, Joe L Davis and Morgan Davis of Houston, and Porter Davis and W P Knox of Okolona; two sisters, Mrs. Oscar Rhodes of Van Vleet and Mrs. Eddie Dear Farr of Houston. Twenty-one grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren also survive.

Malvern and Mary Davis have a son, Malcolm M Davis, that died at his home in Oakland, Calif., Feb. 11, 1975 of an apparent heart attack. He was born Nov. 24, 1904. Interment was in Oakland, but obituary does not say what cemetery and he is not listed on findagrave.
