H.D. Ivory enlisted as a private in the 10 Regiment New York Heavy Artillery. He was killed In Virginia 6 July 1864. He was originally buried on the battlefield at Fort Stedmen, but was removed to Poplar Grove National Cemetery July 15, 1864. He is buried in Section D Site 1290. Film #M551 roll 70.
