Individual Details
Ioannis Nikolaos Papagiannakos
(9 May 1905 - )
Note #1: Is it possible that this Ioannis is another son to Nikolaos Papagiannakos (#104) and brother to Jimmy Pappas and his other brothers? He is the right age to be exactly in the middle of this family. His name is from the Mitroon Arrenon.
Note #2: A birth-baptismal record for Ioannis Nikolaos Papagiannakos, mother Georgitsa, is in the Agias Triados church books. This entry is causing confusion. His baptismal date is one week after his birth, indicating perhaps that he was baptized early because he was sick and not expected to live. Also, it makes sense that Ioannis would be the first born in the family because it keeps with the naming tradition of being named after his paternal grandfather (Ioannis). However, looking at Note #1, there is an Ioannis as child #7 in this family, born in 1905. It is not common practice to name a child after one who has died.
So the question is -- are there 2 Ioannis' or just one, who has 2 birth years: 1887 and 1905?
So as not to "lose" the child born in 1887, I am adding him as a separate individual.
June 2016: Father Eugene Pappas. Ioannis Papagiannakos was the first one here (in the U.S.) And he died here, but no one knows where he was buried and there are no records are where they buried him.
