Another of Big Lake's oldest residents, Mrs. Emra Moores, was called to the great beyond on Tuesday of last week. Ella Lucretia Putnam was born April 23, 1862, at Big Lake Minn., and here she has always resided. In 1878 she was united in marriage to Mr. Chas. Emera Moores, also of Big Lake. To this union were born six children, the two oldest of whom preceded their mother in death. On July 20, 1919 she became very ill with a complication of diseases and has been under the constant care of a physician since then, although she was up and around the house the greater part of the time. On Monday, Feb. 7, 1921, she suffered a severe attack of bronchitis but was recovering from that when on Monday, Feb. 14th, at 11 AM she had a stroke of paralysis and passed away, Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 15th, at the age of 58 years, 9 months and 23 days. She has been a devoted wife, a loving mother and a faithful follower of God.
She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, Mr. Emera Moores, four children, Ross O. Moores, Francis J. Moores, Mrs. Walter L. Angstman, and Mrs. Alva H. Moses, all of Big Lake, one sister, Mrs. Geo. W. Putnam, of Arlington, Washing., and three brothers, Eugene E. Putnam of Big Lake, William H. Putnam of Little Falls and George F. Putnam of Bend, Ore. Also five grandchildren, Ervin K. Moores of Robinson, N. Dak., Kenneth and Sherrill Angstman and Marion and Marjorie Moses, all of Big Lake. Also a large number of other relatives and friends. Mrs. Moores took an active part in the W.C.T.U. as well as other church societies, and has many life-long friends who will deeply mourn her loss.
