Will written 2 May 1838. Probated in Logan County KY 1 Dec 1848

John Jackson's will. Dated 2 May 1838, Warren Co KY
To beloved wife Mary Jackson, all slaves, use and profit of plantation, livestock, household & kitchen furnture, farming utensils. She is to support and maintain those children not married. Daughter Antheline to have horse, negro, bed & furniture when she is married. Son John S. has received all I intend to give him. Son Francis W. the tract where I live of 200 acres, also 32 acres adj, the remaining part of tract I purchased from the administrators of Burwell Jackson, and 35 acres of head right land to be sold and proceeds divided between the daughters who are then living. Two slaves to Francis after wife's death; if Francis stays with his mother he is to receive 1/5 of the crop each year. After wife's death, slaves and living stock to be divided between daughters, Margaret C. Sublett, Martha W. Sloss, Mary V. Atchison, and Anthaline E. Jackson. My man Jerry is not to be included but is to live on the plantation and be cared for and decently intered. When property is divided Mary Hines, Martha Hines [this is probably actually Margaret as evidenced by a suit in Logan Co], George Hines, Martha Hines and Hester F. Hines, children of my daughter Hester F. Hines are each to have $5. John D. Jackson and Mary E. Jackson, children of son Burwell, dec'd to each have $5. Wife Mary and son Francis W. to be Executrix and Executor. Produced in Court April Term 1841. Wit: Vincent S. Hay, Clinton Jackson.

Logan Co KY Equity Box 68, Case #1701. Filed 1 Dec 1848. Copy of above Will. Same as above except the Hines children are listed as Mary, Margaret, George, Martha & Hester. [The Jackson book claimed two Hines daughters named Martha, one having died, but that would be based on the above Will and a deceased child would not have been named - there just seems to be a mistake in the will.]
