Robert was on the Granville, NC Tax list for the first time in 1814: Robt. Longmire, William Longmire, Jr. and William Longmire, Sr. Robert Longmire appeared for the last time in 1843, but the tax records are missing from 1843 until 1850.

May 1847. Between Robert Longmire & William Clement, executors of John Minor, Senr, deceased of one part and William Evans and Winnifred Tylor of the other part. By virtue of last will & testament of John Minor, Senr, a certain tract was exposed to public auction; John Minor, Junr was the last and highest bidder. The said John has paid to the parties of the first part and directed them to convey the aforesaid tract to the parties of the second part. They have sold the said tract to the parties of the second part. Lies on the waters of Hatchers Run adjoining lands of Charles Mallory, ____Minor's estate, Thomas Pittard, Josiah Robertson and others. 188 acres. To be held in trust for the sole benefit of the said Winnifred Tyler during her natural life; at her death she may declare or in default of such declaration, to the use of Lemuel Tyler during his lifetiem and at his death to Polly Anderson, wife of George W. Anderson during her lifetime and at her death to such child or children she may leave. Signed: Robert Longmire, Wm Clement.

__ July 1847
To beloved wife Elizabeth Longmire, ten negroes: Ned, Burwell, Isaac, Squire, Lewis, Lethe, Sarey, Marey, Rozette & Chantey with all my land, 630 acres. Stock of all kinds. Crop of corn, wheat, oats & fodder, household and kitchen furniture & plantation utencels during her widdowhood. My crop of tobacco to be prised and sold to pay my just debts.
To daughter Sally H. Longmire, three negroes, James, Ann, Elizer and their increase, one bed and furniture, one horse, saddle and bridle
To daughter Emmeley B. Green, three negroes, Mariah, William & Sterling, one sorrell mare, saddle & bridle, one bed and furniture, with their increase
To daughter Lucey Ann Longmire, three negroes, Martha, Pleasant and Jane and their increase, one bed and furniture, one horse, saddle & bridle
To son James W. Longmire, two negroes, Phillop & Catherine with their increase, one bay mare, saddle & bridle, one bed and furniture
To my grandson Robert B. Longmire (son of Samuel) two negroes Rozette & Chanty with their increase at the death of my wife Elizabeth Longmire.
At the death of my wife Elizabeth, eight of the Negroes: Ned, Burwell, Isaac, Squire, Lewis, Sarey, Lethe, & Marey with their increase to be equally divided amongst all my children and grandson: Sally H. Longmire, Emmeley B. Green, Lucey Ann Longmire, James W. Longmire, my grandson Robert B. Longmire (son of Samuel). My land and stock of all kinds, crops, household & kitchen furntiure and plantation tools to be sold by my Executor - after paying my wife's just debts, the money left to be equally divided amongst all my children and grandson, mentioned above.
If my grandson Robert B. Longmire (son of Samuel) dies without lawful heir, all I give him to come back and be equally divided amongst all my children.
Four Negroes, Parthena, Carroline, Prudence and Aaron and their increase to be valued & divided amongst all my children & grandson.
My worthy friend William Green to be Executor.

February Court, 6 Feb 1850, Wed. William Green proved a deed from Mrs. Elizabeth Longmire to Rhodes N. Herndon. Ordered recorded.
May Court, 6 May 1850, Mon. Joseph Minor proved deed of gift from Elizabeth Longmire to Emily B. Green. At that same court session, Joseph Minor was appointed overseer of the the road from Potter's Bridge to Hatcher's Run and mentions the hands of Robert Longmire, dec'd.
May Court, 11 May 1850, Sat. George W. Hunt appointed administrator of the estate of Elizabeth Longmire. $200 bond. Securities, Robert L. Hunt & William Green.
George W. Hunt given leave to sell perishable property of Elizabeth Longmire, dec'd and sell her Negro boy, Aaron, on a credit of nine months.

February Court, 5 Feb 1851, Wed. Commissioners (not named) appointed to divide the slaves of the estate of Robert Longmire returned report.

Estate file contains:
Letter to the Court from William Green notes that on the 28th of August last (1847), he sold the following slaves. Caroline was bought by Thomas Morris for $526. Parthenia was bought by (first name blotted but also seems to be Thomas) Morris for $530. Prudence was bought by Sally Longmire for $241, and Aaron was bought by Lucy Ann Longmire for $75. Dated Jan 1848.
Report of the estate sale, 14 Nov 1848, and returned to Feb Court, 1849. There were virtually no family members remaining to purchase - William Green and his wife made none.
The report of the commissioners appointed to audit the accounts of William Green, Executor of Robert Longmire, dec'd, dated 31 Jan 1850. There was on hand, $703.74. As noted earlier they were William H. Lyon, Carter Waller, & Meredith Crews.
Aug Court 1850. James M. Wiggins, James C. Cooper, Daniel A. Paschall, John Blacknall and Col. Leslie Gilliam appoint commissioners to divide the Negroes belonging to estate of Robert Longmire dec'd into four parts - one share to William Green, one share to James Longmire, and two shares to Robert Longmire and report to the next term of this court.
8 Oct 1850. William Green made report of the following sales. Sale of 630 acres to Jas. Longmire for $945.00. Sale of two cows & a calf, chairs, an iron pot, one feather bed & furniture. brought $14.70.
10 Oct 1850. The commissioners met and valued the following Negroes: woman Letha, $250; man Burwell, $450; man Squire, $750; man Lewis, $675; woman Mary & children Charles & John, $375. Giving to each share the sum of $625. Robert Longmire drew Lots 1 (Burwell) and 4 (Letha, Mary and children Charles & John). Jas. Longmire drew lot 2 (Lewis). Wm Green drew lot 3 (Squire) To make the lots equal, Wm Green is to pay Robert Longmire $125. James to pay him $50. Signed: Jas. M. Wiggins, J. C. Cooper, L. Gilliam, D. A. Paschall.
10 Nov 1852. Duncan C. Herndon, guardian of Robert B. Longmire, makes bond with John R. Herndon as security in the sum of $441. Duncan C. Herndon has this day received of William Green, Executor of Robert Longmire the sum of $220 the distributive share of Robert B. Longmire in said estate arising from the sale of the Negro man Isaac sold by Mrs. Elizabeth Longmire in her lifetime. If any debts, etc. arrise, Duncan C. Herndon will pay back the rateable share.
10 Nov 1852. Another bond similar to the above in the amount of $978.28. Herndon has received the sum of $489.19, the distributive share from the sale of land & other property sold by William Green the 8 Oct 1850.
10 Oct 1852. Still another bond in the sum of $1250.00. Herndon has received as the distributive share of Robert B. Longmire the following negroes: Mary and two children John and Charles valued at $525.
An earlier bond dated 5 Feb 1850 was for $524 due to receipt of $282.13, a special Legacy under the will of Robert Longmire, dec'd and is in full of this Legacy, paid by William Green the Executor.

Who is Mary Ann Longmire? I found no clues in the wills.
Granville Court Records
February Court, 6 Feb 1850, Wed. Duncan C. Herndon appointed administrator to administer estate of Martha A. Longmire, will annexed. Bond $12,000, Rhodes N. Herndon and John R. Herndon, securities. [Martha was nee Burnett, the widow of Samuel Longmire and a niece of the Herndon brothers]
and Duncan C. Herndon appointed administrator for the estate of Mary Ann Longmire on the same day. Bond $6,000, Rhodes N. Herndon and John R. Herndon, securites. A copy of the bond dated 7 Feb 1850 in the Estate Files of Granville shows her name as Mary Anna Longmire - there was nothing else in the file.
Duncan, Rhodes & John were sons of Zachariah Herndon - their sister Mary married a Burnett and their daughter Martha was the wife of Samuel H. Longmire, son of Robert.
