Newton J. Freeman - Indiana Death Certificate #119. Died Jan 4, 1913 of tuberculosis in Monroe, Clark Co, IN. He was 73 - born in 1840. Wife is Elizabeth (maiden name is NOT Winkler - but is unreadable, maybe Hu_ton) Freeman. He was born in Lexington, KY. Father was John Freeman, birthplace unknown; mother was Hannah Freeman, b. Richmond, KY. Marion Freeman was the informant.

There is also a death certificate, Indiana #000243, for Laura Eva Mackison who died 2 Jan 1966 of cerebral hemorrhage. She died at the Clark County Memorial Hospital, Jeffersonville, Clark Co,. Her residence was the Blackiston Mill Road, Jeffersonville. Laura was born 22 Nov 1878 in Underwood, IN and was widowed. Her father was Newton Freeman; her mother Elizabeth Winkler. Mrs. Lillian Coombs, daughter, was the informant who also lived on the Blackiston Mill Road. Buried Walnut Ridge Cemetery, Jeffersonville.

If Laura's information is correct on Find A Grave Memorial# 97911973, she was married to John W. Mackison, 1877-1961.

...Sarah Freeman, b. 24 Aug 1880, died 28 Sep 1905, Henryville, Clark, IN. Death certificate lists her parents as Nuten Freeman & Betty Winkler. She married Louis Staton (1878-1936)
...Minnie E. Freeman, b. 5 Apr 1885 (or 1886- see 1900 census), d. 6 Oct 1950. Parents listed on death certificate as Newton Freeman and Elizabeth Winkler. Marion Waterbury was the informant. She married George Waterbury (1880-1930)
...Grace Florence Freeman, b. 5 Oct 1886 (wrong - b. 1879, but the 1886 date is from Social Security records), died 3 Oct 1957, North Madison, Jefferson Co, IN. Father was Newton Freeman, mother unknown. She was in the Madison State Hospital - died of cerebral arteriosclerosis associated with psychotic reaction. Married Bert VanCampen (1883-1936). Parents listed in Social Security record are Neutin Freeman and Elizabeth Winkler.
