Individual Details

Sarah A. "Sally" Winkler

(1838 - )

Many list Sally as a daughter of Nancy Noland since she was born before the marriage to Margaret Farthing. However, in 1850, a Sally is living with William and Margaret and she is only age 12 - Nancy Noland Winkler and her children had all gone to Missouri in the early 1840s. It seems unlikely Sally would have stayed behind if she was Nancy's daughter. It seems most probable that Margaret Farthing was her mother and she was born before William Winkler divorced Nancy.

She cannot be the same Sally Winkler that married Jameson in 1844 - she would not have been living at home with her father, nor would she have been age 12. It's obvious there were two Sally Winklers.

A Sally Winkler married Mordicia Morgan Jameson, 4 Nov 1844, Estill Co KY. He was a son of Thomas Jameson and Rebecca McFarland. their son John Henry, b. 26 Jun 1850 in Estill Co KY - died 19 Nov 1942 in Fayetteville, Washington Co AR.

I believe this Sally (or Sarah) married a Whitacre. Here she is in the 1910 Census, living with her sister Susanna.
