JOHN BROWN

In a deposition dated 9 Oct 1664, John stated he was aged 35 years.
Settled in Rhode Island with his parents in 1638. Served as juryman, commissioner on union of towns in 1654. Freeman in 1665. In 1659 appointed surveyor of highways and member of the town council with Roger Williams and Thomas Harris.
John Browne and wife Mary sold to James Mattewson 5 acres of land purchased by "my father Chad Browne and Given to me by his last will and Testament" 27 Feb 1668.
