Eliza Mims

(25 Aug 1859 - 21 Mar 1948)

Eliza said to have married James Washington Baker who was some 20 years younger than she was - however she has children on FindAGrave with the surname Mims that are about the same age as James Washington Baker. Did she have an earlier marriage to a Mims cousin, or are these boys illegitimate?

Sons for Eliza as shown on FindAGrave are John Jackson Mims, b. 17 May 1877; died 30 Nov 1942, Elmore Co, AL; married to Minnie Pearl Baker
and
Frank Moses Mims, b. 16 Jan 1880, died 6 Apr 1950. His wife, Alice Laura Dennis (1882-1933)
but they were not with her in 1880 when she was still living at home, apparently unmarried. Her mother is certainly young enough to have all the children as shown. I found neither boy anywhere in 1880.
