The Chilton Co Heritage book states that Sarah was the daughter of John Moore, b. 1792, and granddaughter of Obediah Moore, born 1754 who was a Revolutionary War Veteran.

Sarah died of typhoid fever, as did their youngest child Benjamin. Graves are said to be at the old John Moore Family Cemetery. She is said to have been the mother of 16 children.
