The 19 June 1817 Logan Co., KY estate settlement of William Britt lists Randolf Britt, Smith Britt, Hannah Britt, Martha Britt, Elizabeth Britt, Thos. Britt, Bollin Britt, Susannah Britt, Wm. Britt, Eleanor Britt, & Jefferson Britt. They had all migrated with their father from Goochland Co., VA. abt 1816 to that portion of Logan Co., KY. that in 1820 became Todd Co., KY.
There is a plat of the land division - most received about 35-40 acres. Richard Crouch, husband of Martha Britt purchased several tracts from her siblings.

William Britt (Jr) is recognized as a DAR Patriot #A014637, for service as a Private under Col. Abraham Buford, 15th Regt, Virginia. (there is a note on his entry at NSDAR that his service had not been reviewed as of 2017) Only one person has ever applied via daughter Elizabeth Poor.
William Britt Sr. died in 1778 (not this man.... and not his first cousin, son of Obadiah Britt) and served in the Continental Army during the American Revolution. Colonial soldiers who served in the army received land grants. Descendants of William Britt Sr. received sizable land warrants in what was then Logan County, Kentucky. A large group of families from Goochland County, Virginia who were related by blood and by marriage also had received land grants and moved from 1797 to 1822 to Logan County. These families located on land from Daysville eastward along Whippoorwill Creek south of Russellville, Ky. The Britts, Moselys, Poors, Moreheads, Mims, Duncans and Herndons were either related before they moved or intermarried soon after arriving in the area. Richard Crouch and his wife Martha Britt purchased part of the William Britt Sr. land near Daysville on the Daysville- Allensville Road in 1822 from David Bullock who had married Susannah Britt the sister of Martha.

Service record from Fold3 with a death notice that puts this service into question: William Britt, pvt, served in Capt. James Mason's Co, 15th Virginia Regiment of Foot, commanded by Maj. Gustavus B. Wallace.
