Nancy married (1) Micajah Mayo after Nov 1807. She was his 2nd wife. They had four children. She married (2) Rev. Luke Ward - bond dated 10 May 1824, Edgecombe Co. They had no children together. Rev. Ward had been previously married to Lavina Mayo and had several children by her.
Nancy is in the 1850 Census, Edgecombe Co, age 69, living alone.
She wrote her will 26 Nov 1853.She left to her daughter Harriet P. Lawrence wife of Joshua I. Lawrence, lands in both Edgecombe & Martin Counties, totally about 800 acres. She bequeathed five slaves, monies, bonds, note, etc. to her grandchild, child of Harriet. Her slaves were to be hired out and the funds kept at interest for the benefit of any children born hereafter to the said Harriet. The will was proved in May of 1854.
