The marriage of Joseph Chamberlain and Mary Johnson is recorded in the town records of Billerica but there is no date.
25 Nov 1737 Joseph Chamberlain of Mansfield, Conn. was plaintiff against Thomas Stimpson, phsyician of Reading, Mass. He recovered a debt.
28 Jul 1742 Joseph Chamberlain of Tolland Conn. was plaintiff against Daniel Champney Jr. of Cambridge.
It is believed Joseph removed to Connecticut about 1725, living first in Lebanon until about 1732, then to Mansfield. From Mansfield he moved to Tolland and then on to Amenia, Dutchess Co NY in 1755.
Joseph and Mary were buried in the Amenia Union Cemetery, one of the oldest cemeteries in the town and still occasionally used. Sons Colby and William and their wives, along with other descendants are also buried there.
