Peter Starnes

(2 Apr 1710 - Bef 13 Sep 1791)

Peter married 12 Jan 1736 to Hannah Stimson of Tolland CT. They removed south to North Carolina in 1754

A Family Group Sheet of the family of Peter Starnes was sent to me by Charles Patten and contained considerable information not found elsewhere. Considerable source material is indicated. Some of it did come from the IGI of the LDS church, a rather questionable source. I have incorporated this information but not confirmed it. It is not really clear which children belonged to which wife - there are three different versions of his families noted on the one page. Both Peter & Thomas have birth years several years after the death of Hannah, yet in one place they are marked as Hannah's sons. One note states that Peter and Hannah had 8 children and Peter and Margaret had 5. Only 8 Starnes children are named so apparently not all the children of either wife have been discovered.

Peter Starnes said to served in the South Carolina Milita 3 Mar 1779 to 4 Oct 1781.
