By 1778 William and Jemima Sharp were living in Henry County, Virginia, probably near the North Mayo River. This was very close to the Henry County border with Patrick County. Jemima's brother, Thomas Stockton, Sr., who married Mary Golden in Henry County, also owned property on the North Mayo River.
