"In memory of Nancy, wife of Robert Shield, daughter of Richard & Agnes Stockton Shields, came to Sevier Co. in 1785"
Obviously marked some time after her death, by the DAR.

Robert Shields is said to have served as a private in Francis Lang's Company in the Revolution.
