Lemuel Underhill, husband of Keziah, was the son of John and Jane [Jones] Underhill. His birth and that of his siblings is recorded in Lost Creek Monthly Meeting and he was likely born there in Jefferson Co TN. Jane was the daughter of Jesse & Hannah Jones. Some of the children of John & Jane Underhill were born after they moved to Wayne Co IN.

In 1850, Wayne Co, IN, there were two older girls in the household of Alfred Underhill - Belinda age 16, and Manerva, age 15. They were the orphaned daughters of Lemuel and Keziah.

4 Jul 1853. Marriage license for Thomas Swain to marry Belinda Underhill . Thomas and Belinda were married on the 7th day of July, 1853, by Jonathan P.Adamson, Justice of the Peace. (Belinda's uncle married the couple)
