The Herald, Rock Hill, South Carolina, Monday, April 9, 2012: Chester---Mrs. Helen Carter Yarborough, 91, died Saturday, April 7, 2012, at Chester Regional Nursing Center. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at New Hope United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Lois Helms, Chris Snelgrove and David Sealy officiating. Interment will be held in the church cemetery. Born Oct. 10, 1920, in Chester County, Mrs. Yarborough was the daughter of the late David Lee Carter and Mattie Thelma Allen Carter. She attended the schools of Chester County and was retired from Gayle Mill of Springs Industries as a spooler. She was a member of New Hope United Methodist, where she was the former Sunday school superintendent, member of the United Methodist Women and a Member of the choir. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Nancy D. Yarborough of Chester; a sister, Minnie Lee of Chester; a son-in-law, Roger Price of Chester; seven grandchildren, John D. Teague, Helen T. Owens, Delayne Yarborough, Leslie Jacobs, Alexa Jacobs, Shelby Price and Brian Yarborough; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was the widow of Thomas Shelby Yarborough. Mrs. Yarborough was preceded in death by a son, Shelby Joe Yarborough and a daughter, Alma T. Price. Memorials may be made to New Hope United Methodist Church, 2684 W.
