The Charlotte Observer, Charlotte, North Carolina, Tuesday, December 15, 1992: Chester---Mr. Thomas Shelby Yarborough, 76, of Route 3, Box 396, died Dec.13, 1992, at Chester County Hospital. Funeral is 3 p.m. today at New Hope United Methodist Church, where he was a member. The Rev. Frank Copeland will officiate, with the Revs. Warren Ashmore and Bill Mewborn assisting. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Barron Funeral Home is in charge. Mr. Yarborough, a Springs Industries retiree, was a Chester native. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Helen Yarborough; son, Shelby Joe Yarborough; daughter, Mrs. Alma Price; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to New Hope United Methodist Church, Route 3, West Chester School Road, Chester, S.C. 29706.
