Carter, prominent farmer of western Chester county, who died Sunday night following an illness of heart and kidney trouble, were conducted from the Calvary Baptist church Monday afternoon with the Rev. Edgar W. Davis, the Rev. James Henry Yarborough and the Rev. M. L. Banister in charge. The burial was made in the graveyard of the church. Mr. Carter, who was 72 years of age, was a native of the section in which he lived and died. He was a member of Cedar Camp No. 5 Woodmen of the World, and they assisted with the services. Mr. Carter is survived by his widow, Mrs. Minnie Carter, and by the following sons and daughters: Roy Carter of Landsford, Buford Carter of Leeds, Dave L. Carter of Chester, John Joe Carter of Leeds, Butler Carter of Union; Mrs. W. S. Minter of Chester and Mrs. B. H. Gregory of Leeds and a granddaughter, Miss Lillian Carter of western Chester county; two brothers, Ernest Carter and Wilks Carter of Mississippi, also survive.
