Obituary from December 26, 1977 Daily American Republic: Ellis A. (Gabe) Kirkpatrick, 67, a retired machine operator for Harris Lime Co., was dead on arrival at 12:30 P.m. Sunday at Wayne Medical Center in Piedmont. He died of an apparent heart attack. Mr. Kirkpatrick was born Oct. 27, 1910, in Greenville. He was married Oct. 27, 1934, to Rachel V. Moore. He was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church near Piedmont. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Robert J. Kirkpatrick of Hillsboro, Kenneth L. Kirkpatrick of Pocahontas, Ark., and Daniel L. Kirkpatrick of Piedmont; two daughters, Lula Belle Loucks and Dora Fay Street, both of Piedmont; three brothers, Edward B. Kirkpatrick and Billy Kirkpatrick, both of Stigler, Okla., and Elmer L. Kirkpatrick of St. James; eight sisters, Irene Magnusson of St. James, Inez Martin of Stegler, Julie Hicks of Shreveport, La., Caroline Young of Omaha, Neb., Dorothy Carrow and Betty Kime, both of Piedmont, Freda McMurry of St. Louis and Edna Darden of House Springs; and 13 grandchildren. Services were scheduled to begin at 3:15 p.m. today in Gish-Bowles and Coder Funeral Home in Piedmont. The Rev. Orla Parker and the Rev. Hensley DeSpain were to officiate. Burial was to be in Rings Creek Cemetery near Piedmont.
