Obituary: Virginia M. Myers, Mrs Virginia M. Myers of Boalsburg died in the Maple Farms Nursing Home, Akron, Pa., June 2, 1960. Born December 7, 1876 in Harris Township, Centre County, she was married to Edward H. Myers, who died December 6, 1940. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs L. A. Whitekettle of Marietta, Pa.; Mrs R. A Goheen, Sharon Hill, Pa; and by two grandchildren.Grandma was a member of the United Church of Christ of Boalsburg.
Grandma had been living at home in Boalsburg until the time of her stroke when she went into the county hospital in Bellefonte. She had private nursing until her funds began to run out. Her daughters decided to place her in a nursing home in Ephrata township, where she died shortly after that time.
Burial
Cause of death was cerebrial Heamorrhage for 4 days. Also had Senillity, hypertension, and ceribral artery sclerosis. Had been moved to Lancaster, Maple Farms Hursing Home shortly before death.Probate
Betty Lou to receive Almanac quilt and desk used by her deceased husband, Edward H. Myers. All the rest to be divided into two equal shares between Elizabeth C. Whitekettle and Lorraine V. Goheen. Real estate described in schedule. Recorded in Deed book # 151 page 67. valued at 18,550. After finding the will I discovered that I was never mentioned in the will and the family must have wanted me to have these items.I had a special attachment to Grandma Myers, we shared our birthdays and I looked forward to summers when the family went to visit grandma for the summer. She was very special to me.
