Naomi R Reitz, 87, of 234 E Main St Boalsburg, died at Centre Community Hospital on Tuesday.Mrs. Reitz was born April 22, 1895 in Boalsburg, a daughter of William and Alice Wise Myers. She married Frederick Reitz, who died Dec 25, 1959. She is survived by two daughters: Alice R Shuey of Baltimore, Md., and Charlotte C Goodman of LaStezia, Italy; one sister Sarah Sweet of Boalsburg and two grandsons.
She was employed as a seamstress for many years by Ethel Meserve and the Schlow Furniture Store, both of State College. She retired in 1965, but continued to do private seamstress work. She was a member at St John' United Church of Christ for 75 years, a charter member of Rebekah Lodge 166 and a charter member of the Women's Auxiliary of Boalsburg Fire Company. Mrs Reitz was also a life member of the Academy of Friendship Women of Moose, Bellefonte.
Funeral services will be held at St John's United Church of Christ Boalsburg, Sunday at 3 pm with Rev William H Rader officiating. Entombment will follow in Boalsburg Cemetery. Friends will be received at the church on Sunday from 1:30 pm until the time of services.
Memorial contributions may be made tot the church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Koch Funeral Home, State College.
